Apparently, Minecraft runs the texture pack with the side of the grass block as the pre-colored one, not the grey-scaled. WebIt’ll take some finagling to get right, I tweaked it over and over since it’s a weird one to work with. That file will completely cut off the top of your grass block on the sides with the default.
